New Release
What should I do with my stimulus check?
The money the government is sending everyone is to help us get through the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be so tempting to blow that money! "I really would love to have that giant flat screen TV." Or "I need those fancy rims for my ride." But my friends, this crisis that we are in right now isn't over and no one is sure when it will be over.
So if at all possible, SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!! Many banks will allow you to open a savings account over the phone, send you an email to electronically sign and then deposit money at their drive-thru. The larger banks even allow you to handle everything on-line, then you can go deposit the money at the drive-thru.
If you are out of work or your hours have been cut, use this money to pay your bills. Financial counselor Dave Ramsey encourages everyone to protect the "Four Walls" of their home -
Food
Utilities
Shelter
Transportation
Just because the government has banned evictions temporarily, the ban will eventually be lifted. And when it does, no one wants to face having a large amount to pay. So pay your rent and if possible, pay several months in advance.
The same applies to utilities. Currently, Georgia Power will not turn off your power for non-pay. However, this too will change and Georgia Power will want their money. So keep your utilities payments up to date.
Be smart with your money!
STAY SAFE....STAY SMART....STAY HOME!!
