Trash Disposal Policy

Per Ryland Environmental, the company contracted with by the City of Tifton, all household trash must be bagged and tied before being placed in trash bins.  Trash cannot be overloaded in your bin (i.e., the lid must be able to close) and no trash should be left on the ground by your bin.  Overflowing bins and unbagged garbage shall constitute a violation of this policy. 

If you regularly have more trash than will fit in one bin, call the City of Tifton Customer Service at 229.382.6231 and request a second bin. 

All bins shall be put on the curb no more than 12 hours in advance of garbage pickup and must be pulled back to your apartment and placed in the back of your unit within 24 hours of your trash pickup.   Placing bins on the curb earlier than is allowed and not timely pulling them back to your apartment are both violations of this policy. 

The Tifton Housing Authority will pick up large items not allowed in trash bins (e.g., furniture, washers and dryers, mattresses, etc.) each Friday.  Those items may be placed by the road no sooner than Thursdays at 12:00 p.m.  Placing such items by the road earlier than Thursdays at 12:00 p.m. shall constitute a violation of this policy.

Any and each violation of this policy shall result in a $25.00 fine.
