THA Times - May/June 2024

Family Fun Day

The Tifton housing Authority (THA) celebrated this year's Family Fun Day with an exciting Luau theme, transforming the Bellview Community Center into a tropical paradise on June 8, 2024. The event drew a lively crowd of residents and non-residents alike, all eager to join in the fun and festivities. Local vendors played a crucial role in making the day a success, offering a diverse range of activities that catered to all ages. Children delighted in having their faces painted with colorful designs, while others enjoyed riding the whimsical choo-choo train. Water activities provided a refreshing escape from the summer heat, and the gaming truck was a hit among video game enthusiasts, providing hours of digital fun.

The list of participating vendors and organizations was impressive. Ruth Cottage, known for its support of families in need, was present, as was the Department of Public Health (DPH), offering valuable health information and resources. Snapology engaged young minds with interactive STEM activities, while PeachCare provided important health information to families. The local library showcased its programs and services, encouraging literacy and lifelong learning. Representatives from the Tift County Police and Fire Departments were also on hand, engaging with the community and providing safety demonstrations. The event highlighted the strength and unity of the community, bringing people together to enjoy a day of relaxation, fun, and connection.
