Important Information for THA Residents
Dear Resident,
This is a difficult time for this community, state, country and world. Because of this we are making every effort to communicate the most recent information to you as fast as possible In this memo we have listed some important information that has come to our attention.
1. Please call the THA office to update your phone number. It is very important that we be able to reach everyone.
2. Only emergency work orders are being processed. An emergency work order includes the following:
- Stopped up or overrunning toilet
- Water running continuously (not a leaky faucet)
- Refrigerator not working and food spoilage is emminent
- Broken window
- Heater not working and outside temp is below 50 degrees F
- AC not working and the outside temp is above 80 degrees F
- Smoke detector malfunctioning
- Electrical shortage/sparking
- Any situation that is a threat to health and safety
- Locked out of apartment
3. Please note that all residents are still responsible for rental payments. If you have been laid off or had your hours reduced, please contact us at 382-5434 during our business hours. Or you can email Sheena Washington, Property Manager at swashington@tiftonhousing.org. And if you start receiving unemployment benefits, you must report that to us as well.
4. If you are in need of a specific service, such as shopping for groceries, picking up medications, etc., please call or email Melanie Nunley at mnunley@tiftonhousing.org
5. The Disaster Distress Helpline, 1-800-985-5990, is a 24/7, 365-day-a-year, national hotline dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster.
6. The City of Tifton has established a curfew. No one should be out of their homes past 8 p.m. And there is also a Shelter in Place Order issued by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, so there should be no congregating or visiting friends or relatives. Please do not leave your homes for anything other than shopping for groceries and/or purchasing medications.
